Managing Partner and Director
Mr. Syaugi Mohdar, with his signature unrelenting drive and passion, worked his way up in the steel industry. Within a short period of 10 years, he owned the company he worked for, spurred by this core belief- "You never give up, no matter how tough it gets, no matter how isolated you feel, no matter how hard you’ve fallen down. You just keep pushing. You never stop believing that anything anybody else can do, you can do better."
After completing his MBA in 2007, he accepted the role as Production Control Supervisor at Citramas where he subsequently became it's Marketing Manager. By 2016, he had purchased a controlling stake in the business and became PT Citramas Heavy Industries’ President. Citramas had started out as a relatively small medium enterprise supplying ducting for air-conditioners and has grown from strength to strength under his leadership and guidance, expanding into construction, engineering and particularly steel fabrication. It is now one of the largest ISO-certified fabricators in Indonesia, with a 700-strong workforce and a growing list of global clients in major resource, power generation and telecommunications. He also holds the title of President Commissioner of PT. Citra Hydro Energi, a company specializing in the construction of mini hydro-plants in Indonesia.
In 2017, Mr. Syaugi Mohdar founded a Singapore-based company, Global919 Pte Ltd and positioned it as a green technology venture capital company. A strong believer of green technologies, Mr. Syaugi Mohdar has always been implementing new initiatives to reduce carbon footprint and investing in R&D in his steel fabrication business. The natural extension of his fundamental insight is the creation of a company focusing on green technologies that will enhance his business operations in Indonesia as well as developing new products for a carbon emission-conscious, technologically advanced world. The decision to base the venture capital firm in Singapore is strategic as it is a focal point between the east and the west which enables Mr. Syaugi Mohdar to seek out game-changing technologies in the construction and infrastructure space.
A chance meeting with Mr. Harry Huo led to the foundation of Global919 Pte Ltd in 2017. Realizing that they both shared a strong belief in the positive impact of green technologies, they envisioned a green tech venture capital firm that seeks out new ecologically-friendly technologies in the construction and infrastructure space. Under the leadership of Mr. Syaugi Mohdar as Managing Partner, coupled with Mr. Harry Huo as the tech hunter, Global919 Pte Ltd is poised to become a boutique green technology venture firm in Asia. Global919’s projects include the development and implementation of new water treatment technologies, new material and technologies in construction and civil engineering projects as both partners envision a more ecologically sustainable planet. Global919 works closely with local research institutions like NUS Enterprise, Singapore Polytechnic and overseas R&D centres like AG+ Research Centre in Huizhou, China.
A bachelor of business graduate in Wollongong University, Australia in 2003, Mr. Syaugi Mohdar was awarded his MBA by Curtin University, Australia in 2007.
